Alarm clocks. Usually a joy stealer right? Well this year in my house they are a big peace giver! My sweet kidos are of an age where ( for some reason unbeknownst to me ) they dislike their Mama coming in saying " Good morning Sunshine"! And of course singing to them our own family Good Morning Song from days of old is a big No No :) So to promote peaceful mornings this year I got them each an alarm clock from the church rummage sale. Secretly thinking that, guess what? This will NEVER work. I figured ,give us a day or two and we'd be right back to " What? My alarms going off? Well I didn't hear it!" Well guess what...were on week #2 of school and mornings in our home are filled with the sweet peace of ease and relaxation. Its true! My sweet girl chooses to get up a bit earlier then the rest of us to have more primp time in the mornings, while my wonderful son has mastered the habit of getting up, quickly dressing for success and being ready to head out the door. So along with that sly little- good job mom- pat yourself on the back- kinda feeling I also have a morning filled with quiet time as I prepare for our day. Time to cover my children, friends and family in prayer as they all head out to face the day ahead. Time to robe myself with strength and dignity for whatever challenges might come. Time to Come to the Garden Alone with my Blessed Savior and Friend. Our household attitude has chosen to change an item that the world sees as a joy stealer into a blessing. And all us Mama's know that Good Attitudes Make Good Days! Psalm 30:5 ~ For His anger is but for a moment, and His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but Joy Comes with the Morning.
